We are now conducting MOTHER EARTH CUP ZERO (MEC ZERO), a citizen participation type contest on the theme of SDGs.
The contest targets technologies, services, and initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the 17 goals of the SDGs. We will receive video materials from the applicants, edit a 2-minute promotional video and a 10-minute full-length video at no charge, and make these introductory videos collectively available for viewing. The number of paid views will be evaluated as the number of votes and awards will be given. The videos will be subtitled in English so that they can be disseminated not only in Japan but also overseas.
Applicants’ videos with English subtitles will be released on Aug 1. More information will be provided as it becomes available. Please wait with anticipation.
This is a pilot project for applications in Japan, and we plan to hold the first MOTHER EARTH CUP for the world in 2022.
We plan to use the many videos related to the SDGs that will be collected through the MOTHER EARTH CUP for educational and media purposes. We believe that these contents can be of great use in providing free educational opportunities to children around the world.
⭐️⭐️The Gloria Award (Grand Prix) has been established in honor of the 94-year-old woman who played a key role in the creation of the SDGs.
Gloria Starr Kins, who played a key role in the creation of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and is the Vice-Chair of the Center for Global Action for Sustainable Development (CGASD), has been appointed as a Special Advisor to MOTHER EARTH CUP FAMILY.
Gloria is the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Society & Diplomatic Review (SDR), a United Nations accredited publication, and for many years has been an advocate for a wide range of UN activities from a journalistic perspective, playing an important role in the creation of the SDGs.
At the age of 94, she continues to play an active role in the United Nations by utilizing the wide range of networks she has cultivated through her many years of activities at the UN.
In honor of her great contribution to the creation of a sustainable society through “information,” we have decided to establish the Gloria Award as the grand prize of the MOTHER EARTH CUP ZERO.
